Q & A

Where are you located?

I service the Peninsula side of Hampton Roads, Virginia which includes Newport News, Hampton, Yorktown, Poquoson, Williamsburg, Toano, & Smithfield. I do not travel at this time.

Will you travel to areas like Norfolk or Virginia Beach?

Unfortunately, no.

I would be more than happy to suggest other photographers who are more familiar and local to that area.

What types of sessions do you photograph?

I specialize in Maternity, Newborn, Milestone, and growing families.

However, I also do couples, senior portraits, & extended family sessions as well.

Do you have a studio?

I do not but I frequently rent one in Williamsburg, VA. that I love and trust.

I also do a lot of my "studio" work in the comfort of people's homes.

What is your editing style?

My style is very true to color but with a lot of golden & earthy tones.

I love deep greens, rust, tans, and cream colors. I strive to make your images feel golden lit and beautiful.

It's extremely important to see and fall in love with your photographer's portfolio before booking.

How can I order prints?

You may order prints directly from the gallery which'll provide you with the highest quality of prints and or products.

You may always ask for print release if you wish to use an outside lab.

When do outdoor sessions take place?

I shoot at golden hour which is usually that last 40 minutes before sunset so I will typically choose 1-1.5 hour before sunset.

I shoot mostly on Saturday's & Sunday's but I also have some weekday evenings available as well.

What happens if it rains?

I will always provide you with a rain out date and I have never had any issues with rescheduling!

Your time and your moments are important to me.

Do you offer payment plans?

For certain circumstances and for certain sessions, yes.

For more information or something you'd like to discuss, please email me at stillstoriphotography@yahoo.com

How many people can be included in my session?

I always allow up to 5 people for my FULL session.

If you're needing a session for a larger family, please contact me and I'll send you a quote.

I LOVE large family sessions.

Do you allow pets?

Yes please! I am a huge dog lover and I never mind adding them into your session.

I do suggest bringing a friend or family member who can help with leashes and treats though.

When will I get my pictures?

THIS is the biggest question and I totally get why.

I'd be excited too!

My turn around delivery time for your entire gallery is no later than 14 days from your session date.

I don't offer sneak peaks as it's not always easy to do with other galleries in my queue but under certain circumstances, I may be able to.

Just ask!

Can you do a session for less money?

I cannot.

I am so sorry, but here's why.

What I do as your photographer takes a lot of time, working hours, travel, professional experience, effort, education, resources, and is such a huge investment.

Your 1-3 hour session with me includes a lot of un-seen hours. Your session fee covers communication, styling, editing, & contributes to my fees as a business owner. I want to ensure that I can provide the best possible experience for you and so I have created packages that do just that.

What do I wear?

I do not have access to providing a client closet at this time but it is in my near future.

However, I will always provide you with a professional styling guide and assist in helping you with your family's outfits.

Neutrals & earth tones photograph best and goes best with my editing style.

If you love hot pink or bright colors, I am probably not the best fit for you and that's totally okay.

At the end of the day, these are your photos and I want you to be happy.

For a newborn session, I include all swaddles, outfits, etc for baby.

When is it best to book my maternity session?

It's best to contact me as soon as you find out you're pregnant and when you know you want to capture this very important time in your lives.

I think the perfect time to shoot them is around Mama's 28-32 week mark. It truly depends on how Mama is feeling, growing, and what season it is.

When is it best to book my Newborn session? I suggest booking your newborn during your second trimester so that I can make sure I have the availability.

If you've booked a maternity/newborn package with me, I will already make sure you're on my schedule.

For posed newborn sessions, it is best to shoot within baby's first two weeks. However, it's possibly to shoot newborn within baby's first 20 days, baby is just more alert then so posing can be harder and take longer.

If you ever have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
